Teaching First Aid at UNAN Managua

In August, 2014, a team of Project SEMILLA members lead by Dr. Aislinn Black will give a train the trainer course in basic first aid to medical students at UNAN Managua. Expanding on the first aid course developed in 2012, which has been taught to lay providers in several Nicaraguan communities, Dr. Black developed a train the trainer program that will teach UNAN Medical students to organize and teach first aid courses. Involving this group of young, enthusiastic students with the project and empowering them to organize courses will enable Project SEMILLA to teach basic first aid skills to a much wider audience.
